※ 結局，コンパイル開始から約１時間経過後，

luaotfload | db : Force rebuildAttempt to allocate memory failed.

となり，コンパイルは失敗で終了しました．

このようにコンパイル時間が異常に長い原因に対処するにはどうすれば
よいでしょうか？

MacTeX-2013のパッケージをダウンロードし，英文は正しく表示される事から正常にインストールできたと思うのですが，TeXWikiに記載されている方法に従っても日本語の表示ができません．プレビューでは日本語の文字列がxdviでは全て空白になり，dvipdfmxでは四角囲いの×印になるようです．別のやり方や，見落としがちな設定についてご教示願います．

TeXファイルはeuc-japan形式とutf-8の両方を試し，Mac OS X 10.7.5，Emacs24.3を使っています．
platex -versionを実行すると

pTeX 3.1415926-p3.4-110825-2.6 (utf8.euc)

のように表示されます．また，platexでTeXファイルをコンパイルすると

! Text line contains an invalid character.

と表示され，無理矢理xdviでプレビューするとターミナルに残るログに

xdvi-xaw: Warning: Character 9277 not defined in font cmr10

のように表示されます（日本語に対応する部分のエラー？）．
Googleで探しまわりましたが対応策が見つからず，お手上げ状態です．よろしくおねがいします．

latexで和書を組む場合、基本は和文フォントを使うけれど、その中の欧文には欧文フォントを割り当てるのが一般的だと思います。たとえば和文に新ゴM（A-OTF-ShinGoPro-Medium）だと欧文にはArialといった組み合わせにします。

ところが和文も欧文も新ゴMで組むように指示され、どう設定を変えれば良いのか分からず困っています。

TeXLive2012のpdfplatexをWindows 8 Pro 64bit環境で使っています。

2013/9/26版のW32TeXでは、

dvipdfmx foo.dvi

によりfoo.pdfが作成されないのですが、どうすればよいでしょうか?

dvipsk-w32.tar.xz および win64/dvipsk-w64.tar.xz
に新しいプログラム ps2otfps.exe を入れました。
これは Japanese OpenType fonts を用いて dvips によって
作成された PostSctipt ファイルを Ghostscript で
扱えるように書き換える簡単なプログラムです。
ユーザがしなければいけないことは、OpenType fonts を
PostScript 名で Ghostscript の Resource/CIDFont に
コピーして置くことだけです。 Resource/Font に沢山の
ファイルを作成しておく必要はありません。
ただし今のところ、サポートする OpenType fonts は
HiraginoPro, HiraginoProN, KozukaPro, KozukaPr6N だけです。
また元の PS ファイルにバイナリ データは無いものと仮定しています。
やっていることは簡単で、
例えば、dvips で作成した次の test.ps

お世話になります。

奥村先生のpLaTeX2e 新ドキュメントクラスでは、

カギ括弧で始まる段落についても、

見かけ全角1字下げになるようになっていますが、

\section の直後に \newpage した場合（ふつうはあまりしませんが）、

次に\section 等をするまでカギ括弧で始まる段落が、

見かけ1字半の字下げになります。

これは仕様と心得たらよろしいのでしょうか。

私だけの現象かもしれませんが dvipfmx を help 表示すると「pdfmfnt.map が見つからない」警告が出ます。
使う分には支障は無いのですが気になります。

updmap で作成されるのは dvipdfm.map でした。以前は pdfmfnt.map が作成されていたように思いました。
何か勘違いをしているのでしょうか。

角藤先生

ltxpkgs.tar.xzを解凍すると

1.
mwclsというフォルダ内に
新しいフォルダー
という名前のフォルダがあります。余分なものかと思います。

2．
multenumというフォルダー内に
multienum.sty
がありますが、これは、multienumという名前のフォルダにした方がいいのではないでしょうか。

差し出がましいことを言うようですが、御一考宜しくお願いします。

dviファイルをpsファイルに変換しようと思い、
dvips test.dvi
とコマンドプロンプトで打ち込んだところ、以下のようなエラー?が出力され、psファイルは作成されませんでした。

は、mapファイルにmin10へのリンクが無いということですか?
また、このmapファイルとはどこにあるのでしょうか?
min10.tmfは、
/w32tex/share/texmf-dist/fonts/tfm/ptex/standard
という場所にあるのですが、mapファイルにこの場所を指定すれば良いのでしょうか?

ネットで調べはしましたが、解決策を見つけることはできませんでした。texは使い始めたばかりです。

w32tex/bin下にはXpdf内蔵の下記のコマンドとrc があります．
pdffonts,pdfimages,pdfinfo,pdftoppm,pdftops,pdftotext,pdfdetach,xpdfrc
また，xpdfrcが参照する d:/Resource も適切に配置されていると思います．
次のようなサンプルで実験してみました．

操作：
a) platex -kanji=utf8 foo.tex
b) dvipdfmx -V 4 foo.dvi
（Xpdf は PDF version 1.4 以下を扱うようです．
defaultでは version 1.5 が生成されます）
c) pdftotext foo.dvi out.txt
以下のようなエラーが出ます．

Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'
Error: Unknown font tag 'F1'
Error (153): No font in show/space

これ以外のコマンドでも日本語が含まれると
Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'
となります．

対処方法がわかりません．よろしくお願いします．
