beamerのコンパイルエラーについて

初めて投稿いたします．
beamerをコンパイルしようとしたところ，次のようなエラーが出ました．
! Undefined control sequence.
l.13 \pgfutil@format@is@latextrue

この
\pgfutil@format@is@latextrue
は
pgfutil-latex.def
に定義されているようなのですが，このdefファイルは
どこのディレクトリにおけばよいでしょうか．

私はbeamerを正常にコンパイルできています。
pgfutil-latex.defは以下のパスにあります。
texmf-dist/tex/generic/pgf/utilities/pgfutil-latex.def

beamerのバージョンは以下の通りです。
Document Class: beamer 2007/03/11 cvs version 3.07 A class for typesetting pres
entations (rcs-revision 1.70)
