PXchfonと縦組み

ZR様作成の PXchfon パッケージを縦組みにて試した所、
以下のようなエラーになりました。ご報告まで。

\setminchofont[0]{foo.ttc}
\setgothicfont[0]{bar.ttc}

なお横書きクラス(jarticle)で plext.sty を読み込み、
\begin{document}の直後に \tate とした場合は、このエラーは起きません。
