epsで作った図の中に数式などを重ね書きする方法について

Gnuplot から作ったepsでファイルの図の中に、TEXで作った式、記号などを
重ね書きしたいのですがどの様にしたら良いでしょうか?
(Gnuplotの中では式などが自由に書き込みできませんので。)
現在以下のように行なうとしていますが、図中の任意のところに
記号 alpha.eps および alpha_minus.eps が挿入できません。
また、その後に続く文章の位置が\vspace{-13mm}を受けて上に上がったりします。
なお、alpha.eps および alpha_minus.eps はtexからdvipskで作りGhostviewで
eps変換時にBoundingで小さく切り取っています。
