jarticleの場合は、式番号に章番号は出ないはずですが・・・。

私も、そこまで詳しくありませんが、（章番号.節番号.*）を実現
するには、２つの方法があると思います。

１）amsmathパッケージを使用する方法。
ex1------------------------------
\documentclass{jarticle}
\usepackage{amsmath} %amsmathパッケージを読み込んで。
\numberwithin{equation}{subsection} %式番号を節番号まで表示すると指定。

\begin{document}
ご自由にどうぞ。
\end{document}

２）amsmathパッケージに頼らず、
もっと汎用性のいい（かもしれない）方法。

\documentclass{jarticle}

\makeatletter
 \renewcommand{\theequation}{%
   \thesubsection.\arabic{equation}} %数式番号の表示方法
    %この例では、（章番号.節番号.arabicでの数式番号）。いろいろ変更できます。
  \@addtoreset{equation}{subsection} %カウンターのリセット方法。
 \makeatother

\begin{document}
