ボックスの寸法の代入が、その時点でのボックスの中身が代入されたのと同じレベルの
グループ内においてグローバルである（この表現で伝わるかしらん？）ことを考えると、
amsmath パッケージをロードした後に
    \makeatletter
    \let\orig@resetMathstrut@=\resetMathstrut@
    \def\resetMathstrut@{\begingroup\orig@resetMathstrut@\endgroup}
    \makeatother
とか、あるいは
    \makeatletter
    \@temptokena=\expandafter{\resetMathstrut@}
    \edef\resetMathstrut@{\begingroup\the\@temptokena\endgroup}
    \makeatother
としておけばいいだけかも‥‥
