FAQ です。「表」というのは tabular 環境でしょうか。tabular 環境では \footnote は
使えません。代わりに \footnotemark \footnotetext を用います。
table 環境の中で，脚注を出したいのなら minipage 環境を用い，その中で tabular 環境と
\footnotemark \footnotetext を用いれば良いでしょう。 

\begin{table}[オプション]
  \begin{minipage}{...}
    \begin{tabular}
      \footnotemark で脚注番号のみ出し・・・
    \end{tabular}
    \footnotetext{...}% 脚注の内容
  \end{minipage}
\end{table}
