pdfscreenで\verb|>|がでない

いつもお世話になっております。pdfscreen.styでスライドを作成しているのですが、

... the prompt \verb|'>'| in the commands window and
hit the return button, the command is evaluated immediately. For
example:

> 3 + 7
> [1] 10
> constant <- 2 + 2
> 3 + 7 + constant
> [1] 14 
\end{verbatim}

のように書くと、できあがったPDFでは、">" が欠けて表示されます。

 [1] 14

このような出力です。"<- 2 + 2 >" の部分は何故か行連結され、赤字になり、> が
補完されています。

$\rangle$ が表示されることを確認しましたが、ソースコード風ではないので、避け
たいと思います。
